Hintertux Glacier, a haven for ski race and freestyle training, is the ideal European glacier venue for an early summer camp. The high-altitude glacier guarantees good snow conditions at the start of the summer season, while the Zillertal valley offers a range of activities off the snow. The sunny weather allows for hiking, trail running, and outdoor fitness activities, with our excellent base in Lanersbach offering the perfect camp setup.

Travel to resort is not included in the camp, however we can still help you out.
For those arriving at either Munich or Innsbruck airports, there are two cost-effective options for getting to the team hotel.
Transfers with Four Seasons: tirol-taxi.at
Individuals can book as part of a shared transfer which is usually the cheapest option - be sure to book enough space for your luggage. If there are several of you travelling together, it may be better to book a private transfer.
Public transport
From Munich airport, it's easy to take the S-Bahn (metro) to Munich Central Station and take the train towards Innsbruck, either direct or changing at Kufstein, on the Austrian border. Take the train as far as Jenbach.
From Innsbruck, a bus takes you to Innsbruck Central Train Station, where you can get the train to Jenbach.
From Jenbach, either take the Zillertalbahn train, or bus, to Mayrhofen, and take the local bus service up to Vorderlanersbach.
The SASC team van will be leaving from and returning to Edinburgh either side of the camp, with limited space for your equipment and luggage. This is primarily for taking skis & poles, to help with luggage costs and logistics. There is a small charge for this of £15 each way per item, and space availability is subject to the volume of equipment. You would need to get your items to Edinburgh in good time ahead of the camp, and collect them from there on the van's return.
We want to make it as easy as possible for the SASC summer race camp to be your next official university club trip. That's why we've put together two information packs, one for the club and one for your institution. These packs contain all the information about the camp and how to book.
Skis
Slalom and GS skis are required for racers, but both can be hired (at discounted rates) in-resort - see below.
Boots
Your own professionally-fitted boots are strongly recommended
Back protector
Helmet (ideally FIS-certified for racers) + goggles
Ski gloves
Slalom protection (for racers - shin/chin/pole guards)
A more comprehensive packing list is available to those who book on.
The team hotel is very close to the world-renowned Insider Sportshop, which offers almost everything you would need for rent, and a highly-regarded boot fitting service. Get in touch with SASC first ahead of the camp if you have any equipment requirements!
